About Llew Watkins

I work at the intersection of Buddhism, speculative fiction, and somatic practice. Across these disciplines, I explore the connection between body and story – especially the living edge of present knowing. My research draws on the enactive approach and embodied narratology to investigate how we shape our immediate experience.

This approach is grounded in over twenty years of study within the Buddhist tradition. I am currently completing my certification as a teacher and practitioner of Focusing, a practice that develops the skill of listening to the body's natural wisdom.

I am also completing a PhD in Creative Writing that investigates these themes through the lens of cognitive science and the philosophy of the implicit. Alongside this work, I co-founded Black Mountain Meditation to provide a dedicated space for this inquiry to deepen in community.
